Passports with Purpose- Water.org Wells for Haiti- #PwP

Living in first world countries, it’s sometimes easy for us to take for granted our access to clear water. In many parts of the world, the life-sustaining essential is harder to come by.

That’s what I am proud to be part of the Passports with Puropse’s 2012 campaign to raise $100,000 to help water.org build wells in poverty-stricken Haiti.

I’m offering a $100 e-gift card from Amazon.com to the highest bidder. I feel like this is an excellent prize for both the traveler and non-traveler alike due to the wide range of products offered at Amazon. It’s also a great prize because the e-gift card does not expire for a whole year and doesn’t have to be used all at once.

Passports with Purpose’s past projects include raising $90,000 for Room to Read, helping build two libraries in Zambia in 2011, raising $60,000 in 2010 to help Land for Tillers Freedom build 25 houses in Southern India, and raising $28,000 in 2009 for American Assistance for Cambodia to build a school in rural Cambodia. These are all outstanding projects and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of giving back to the global community through this project.

What can you do?

Well, first of all, you can bid on my awesome prize, or you can got to Passports with Purpose’s donation page and check out the other amazing prizes as well.

There are many fine sponsors for this event. Due to a last minute cancellation by my sponsor, I’m sponsoring my own prize, but make sure to check out the other fine sponsors, patronizing their businesses as thanks for their sponsorship of this fantastic cause.
Thank you, 2012 Sponsors:

Donations for the prizes close on December 11th at 11:59 PM EST, and winners will be announced a week later on December 18th.

Thanks to everyone for participating. As travelers, we are blessed to be able to enjoy our wanderings of the globe, now it’s time to give a little back!
