Photo Essay- Hamtramck Labor Day Festival & Parade

Hamtramck is the heart of the Detroit area Polish-American Community. The festival, which takes place every Labor Day weekend, is in it’s 32nd year, and features authentic Polish cuisine, carnival rides, live music, a kielbasa eating contest and the traditional Polish Day Parade on Labor Day.

    Most major cities in America have a Polish festivals. Ours here in Detroit is especially good because we have a large Polish community!

    A day for Polish culture? I want to attend that one day. So interesting.

    Great pics, especially the foodie ones! Gotta get me some pierogies and deep fried Oreos down the road. Didn't know about the festival, need to check it out and get back to Hamtramck down the road. 🙂
