The sacred mountain of Helgafell is located just south of the city of Stykkishólmur. The mountain is famous for it’s place in some of the sagas. The city of barely 1,000 inhabitants is a port city, with it’s sheltered harbour. It is a popular launching points for exploring the fjord and it’s islands during the summer months.
